Mukesh Ambani Draws Salary of Rs 15 Crore For 9th Year in a Row

Reliance Industries boss Mukesh Ambani kept his annual salary capped at Rs 15 crore for the ninth year in a row and did not take any stock option even as the remuneration of most executive directors on the board rose. Ambani, the richest Indian, has kept salary, perquisites and allowances and commission at Rs 15 crore since 2008-09, forgoing almost Rs 24 crore per annum. "The chairman and managing directors compensation has been set at Rs 15 crore as against Rs 38.75 crore as approved, reflecting his desire to continue to set a personal example for moderation in managerial compensation levels," RIL said in its annual report for 2016-17. Jio Effect: Airtel Q4 Net Income Plunges 72%, From 1319 Crore to Rs 373.4 Crore

Bharti Airtel today registered a sharp 72 per cent decline in consolidated net income at Rs 373.4 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2017, hit by "sustained predatory pricing" by newcomer Reliance Jio. Net income stood at Rs 1,319 crore in the same period a year ago. Total revenue fell 12 per cent to Rs 21,934.6 crore, from Rs 24,959.6 crore in the same period last fiscal. The earnings numbers came in after market hours. "The sustained predatory pricing by the new operator has led to a decline in revenue growth for the second quarter in a row. Reliance Jio Net Loss Jumps to Rs 22.5 Crore in October-March

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio today reported widening of its net loss to Rs 22.50 crore in the six months to March, a period when the company virtually had no revenue and ran two back-to-back promotional offers. Net loss stood at Rs 7.46 crore in the same period a year ago, Reliance Jio Infocomm said in an exchange filing. Jio, which launched its services in September, had no revenue from operations during October 2016 to March 2017 while other income fell to Rs 0.54 crore from Rs 2.23 crore in the same six months of 2015-16. Jio is an unlisted arm of Reliance Industries and as per law is not required to put out quarterly numbers. Reliance Jio Raises Rs 2,000Cr Through Electronic Bidding Platform (EBP)

Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. today raised Rs 2,000 crore through issuance of non-convertible debentures on the BSEs new platform and the proceeds would be utilised for roll out of its digital services business. The issue received bids worth over Rs 3,500 crore. The five-year debentures will bear a coupon of 8.32% per annum. "The proceeds of the issuance shall be utilised by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd for rolling out a state-of-the-art digital services business in India," it said.
