This Is What Google’s New UPI App ‘Tez’ Has To Offer

Alphabet Inc's Google has finally forayed into the payments space, by launching its app 'Tez' exclusively in India on Android and iOS. The app is now available on Play Store and App store for the users to download. Google’s VP for Next Billion Users Caesar Sengupta launched the app at an event in New Delhi in the presence of Finance Minister Arun Jaitely. Unlike a digital wallet Tez is built on UPI that allows for payments directly via bank accounts. 67 Indian Startups Receive Tax Benefits From the Government

The government has extended tax benefits to 67 startups so far with a view to promoting budding entrepreneurs in the country, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry C R Chaudhary said today. In January 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had unveiled a slew of incentives to boost start-up ecosystem, offering them a tax holiday and inspector raj-free regime for three years, capital gains tax exemption and Rs 10,000 crore corpus to fund them. "3,576 startups have been recognised as on September 7 and tax benefits have been given to 67 innovative startups," Chaudhary said here while addressing the startup India states conference. 80 Customised Phones with Reliance Jio SIM Cards Given to Top Indian Government Officials

New Delhi: At least 80 high-end Google Pixel “customised” phones with Reliance Jio SIMs have been given to top bureaucrats on a “trial” basis to ensure secure communication among them, according to a person in the IT ministry. The home ministry had drawn up a list of 100 officials from multiple ministries for the purpose, and 80 of these Google Pixel phones have been handed out so far, the person aware of the matter said. The rest 20 units are in the pipeline, he added. The project is at a ‘pilot’ stage and the sample distribution is for measuring the performance and security of the device. PM Narendra Modi today announced a major reshuffle of his cabinet where nine new ministers took oath in this fresh reshuffle. Four ministers - Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi - were elevated to cabinet level.
