GOQii raises $13.4 million in Series A round of funding led by New Enterprise Associates and Cheetah Mobile

Fitness tracker startup GOQii has raised Series A funding worth $13.2 million (Rs 88 crore) led by New Enterprise Associates and Cheetah Mobile, with participation from Great Wall Club, DSG Consumer Partners, Ilkka Paananen (CEO and co-founder of Supercell) and Pravin Gandhi (co-founder of Seedfund) reports Mint.   GOQii will use the funds to expand to China and other unnamed markets, and is working on Chinese content before launching it there. NDTV Raises Funding For Gadget & Auto Portals From Former Apple CEO John Scully & Co.

Media group NDTV Ltd that has been building up its digital commerce ventures said on Wednesday that it has attracted VC funding for its new e-commerce ventures in gadgets and car & bike at a combined valuation of close to $80 million (Rs 510 crore). It did not share further details on the funding amount but said Inflexionpoint (co-founded by former Apple CEO John Scully), Pramod Bhasin (former CEO of Genpact), consumer-focused VC firm Sixth Sense Ventures, Vindi Banga (former chairman, Unilever India), Hiro Mashita (founder and director of M&S Partners) and other HNIs participated in the first round of funding for the ventures. Droom, a Gurgaon based mobile marketplace for automobiles raised funding

Founded in 2014 by serial entrepreneur Sandeep Aggarwal, Droom, a mobile marketplace to buy and sell new & used automobiles, has raised Rs 100 crore from Lightbox Ventures and Japanese internet firm Beenos. Droom will use the fresh funds raised to expand its operations within the country and overseas. The company plans to expand into Southeast Asia by early 2016. Droom has a team of 50+ in its offices in Gurgaon (India) and Silicon Valley (USA). Droom, currently operates in 13 automobile categories including auto services with 1,000 sellers and 6,000 listings, plans to add 20 automobile and 12 service categories, hosting over 50,000 sellers and 200,000 listings in the next 18-24 months.
