Seventh funding from Youwecan ventures in Carl’s Jr a US based fast food chain

Cybiz BrightStar Restaurants, the master franchisee of US-based fast food chain Carl’s Jr in India has attracted funding, reportedly worth Rs. 4 Cr ($0.63 Mn) from Yuvraj Singh’s VC Fund YouWeCan Ventures. Yuvraj will also come on board as a brand ambassador for Carl’s Jr in India.

The funds will be used for opening about 5 restaurants by December and between 7 to 10 restaurants by the end of the fiscal year. Cybiz BrightStar has raised $3-4 Mn till date at a valuation of about $30 Mn. The company is planning to raise close to $30 Mn over the next two years.

“The vertical of QSR, especially burgers, caught my attention in the last few months as space has got a thumbs-up from Indian consumers. This is my first foray into this space and I am delighted to partner with an international brand of this repute”, said Yuvraj Singh whose fund usually puts in R1-1.5 Cr while seeking a 12-15% stake in the portfolio companies.

This is the seventh investment made by the fund. The other six are:

Vyomo: Vyomo, a mobile marketplace for beauty and wellness raised an undisclosed amount in seed round of funding from YouWeCan Ventures to scale up its operations and expand globally. Two months later, it again raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Aprameya Radhakrishna, cofounder of TaxiForSure.

Moovo: Delhi based Moovo, owned and operated by OrbitNote Technologies Private Limited, an on demand booking platform for mini-trucks, raised undisclosed amount of seed funding from Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s early stage VC Fund YouWeCan Ventures.

Edukart: New Delhi based online education startup Edukart, raised R6.4 Cr ($1 Mn) in a fresh round of funding led by YouWeCan Ventures alongwith United Finsec and seed stage accelerator 500 Startup.

Healthians: Online healthcare marketplace Healthians.com, owned by Expedient Healthcare Marketing raised an undisclosed amount from cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s early stage VC fund YouWeCan Ventures.

JetSetGo: Bengaluru based online marketplace for private jets and helicopters, JetSetGo, raised an undisclosed amount of funding from YouWeCan Ventures.

Cartisan: Bengaluru based Cartisan, a platform for car owners catering to all vehicle related service requirements, raised an undisclosed amount of funding in an angel round led by YouWeCan Ventures and Aprameya Radhakrishna, cofounder of TaxiForSure.
