Swiping through Tinder may be taking a toll on your mental health and self-esteem, according to a study which found that people who use the popular dating app have more body dissatisfaction. The reason may have to do with the fact that a persons looks play a major role in Tinder, researchers said. People accept or reject potential matches based primarily on photos, and sometimes, a short description. This type of judgement can take a toll, the study found. Smartphone Manufacturing Industry To Reach Rs 1.35 Lakh Cr by 2020: Report

Indian mobile phone manufacturing industry is estimated to reach Rs 1.35 lakh crore by 2019-20, says a report. "The size of the domestic mobile manufacturing industry in FY (financial year) 2019-20 is expected to be Rs 1,35,000 crore as compared to Rs 94,000 crore in FY 2016-17. Messaging app WhatsApp today said it has crossed the one-billion daily users milestone globally. "Just last year, we shared that one billion people around the world use WhatsApp every month. Today, we are excited and proud to share that one billion people around the world use WhatsApp every day to stay in touch with their family and friends," WhatsApp said in a statement. Its monthly user base -- people who use WhatsApp atleast once in a month -- stood at 1.3 billion. The new Goods and Services Tax (GST) will have no impact on the smartphone demand in India, according to a latest telecom research. A German research firm GfK found that smartphone demand in India remained resilient in 2017, having levelled out slightly to 14 per cent year-on-year. "GfK expects the recently announced Goods and Services Tax (GST) will have no impact on smartphone demand in the country. GfK forecasts overall smartphone demand in the region will total 234 million units in 2017, an increase of 11 per cent year-on-year," the research said. Researchers from Kent State University in the US assessed the ability of the smartphone based video game Pokemon Go to increase walking and decrease sedentary behavior, like sitting.
