Chinese Smartphone Major, Xiaomi launched another flagship smartphone in its Redmi Series Redmi S2 for the Indian and Chinese market. The smartphone launched in China while the Indian launch still hasn’t been officially announced but is surely expected to hit the Indian market in coming months.
The Xiaomi Redmi S2 will be available in three RAM and Storage Options. The 2 GB variant and 16 GB internal storage is being expected to cost at CNY 1,000 which will roughly translate to Rs. 10,500. Going in by the company’s recent trends, the phone might cost a little lower at Rs. 9,999 in India.
On the other hand, the 3 GB variant with 32 GB storage is tentatively expected to cost Rs. 12,000. There is no information on the price of top-end 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage version, but market analyst predicts it to cost around Rs. 15,000. All the variants of Redmi S2 will offer expandable storage via microSD card.
Redmi S2 Specifications and Features
The features of Redmi S2 had earlier been reported on Chinese website TENAA and also were listed in Chinese e-commerce giant AliExpress. To recap, the phone will feature a 5.99 inch HD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. In the hardware context, Redmi S2 will run on Android 8.1 Oreo powered MIUI 9 interface and will comprise of Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and Adreno 506 GPU.
- Coming to the camera specifications, the phone will have a 16 MP front camera supporting portrait mode.
- The back will feature a dual-lens camera setup with a 12 MP primary sensor and a 5 MP secondary sensor.
- The phone will be backed by a 3,080 mAH battery and will be expected in a wide spectrum of colours including White, Black, Silver, Pink and Red.
