Delhi 22nd in Top 25 Global Cities For Women Entrepreneurs

Delhi, at the 22nd spot, is the only Indian city to feature in tech giant Dells 2016 Women Entrepreneur Cities Index (WE Cities) that looks at a city's ability to attract and foster growth of women-owned firms. New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, London, Stockholm and Singapore were the top five cities for high-potential women entrepreneurs, Dell said in a statement. "WE Cities is the only global gender-specific index that looks at a city's ability to attract and foster growth in firms founded by women entrepreneurs," it added. Delhi's Connaught Place has slipped one notch to become the world's seventh most costliest office destination, according to property consultant CBRE. Mumbai's BandraKurla Complex (BKC) is at the 19th position and Nariman Point at 34th, according to CBRE Research Global Prime Office Occupancy Costs bi-annual survey. "With annual occupancy cost of USD 149.71 per sq ft, New Delhi's Central Business District (CBD) of Connaught Place ranks as the seventh most expensive prime office market in the world," CBRE said in a statement. Delhi Govt Notifies App-Based Premium Bus Services

The Delhi government has notified the app-based Premium Bus services starting from June 1 which will enable people to book their seats in buses through their smartphone on the lines of app-based taxis services in the national capital. Only air-conditioned buses will ply under the scheme according to which one bus aggregator will have to run at lease 50 vehicles to get a licence from Delhi governments Transport department. A senior government official said, "Government has notified the app-based bus scheme to be rolled out from from June 1." With operation of app-based taxis in the national capital on Delhi governments radar due to surge pricing, some officials of taxi-aggregator Uber today met Chief Minister and apprised him of his business model. "Some officials from Uber today met the Delhi Chief Minister at Delhi Secretariat and discussed a range of issues including surge pricing, diesel cars and permits," an official said. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off India’s first semi-high speed train Gatimaan Express running at a speed of 160 kmph. The train has reached Agra in 100 mins (Avg. time set is 90 mins). Gatimaan Express will run between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Agra Cantonment stations. Gatimaan Express becomes India's fastest train touched top speed of 160 kmph beating India’s fastest train so far the Bhopal Shatabdi running at 150 kmph.
