Highlights of the Launch of “Gatimaan Express”, India’s Fastest Train

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off India’s first semi-high speed train Gatimaan Express running at a speed of 160 kmph. The train has reached Agra in 100 mins (Avg. time set is 90 mins).

Gatimaan Express will run between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Agra Cantonment stations.

Gatimaan Express becomes India’s fastest train touched top speed of 160 kmph beating India’s fastest train so far the Bhopal Shatabdi running at 150 kmph.

Gatimaan covers the 184-kilometre distance between New Delhi and Agra in 100 minutes, as opposed to 110 minutes by the Bhopal Shatabdi.

From New Delhi to Agra, Gatimaan Express AC chair car fare cost you Rs 750 and the executive class will cost Rs 1,500. It has 12 coaches comprising two executive class compartments, eight AC chair car coaches and two pantry cars.

Gatimaan Express Running at 160 Kmph-

 

First time you will find railway hosts and hostesses who greet passengers by presenting them with a rose bud. In the facility, Gatimaan Express have wi-fi, entertainment, bio-toilets, LED lights and micro-busters for providing good fragrance.

The Railways have tied up with an IT firm called My Free TV, which provides free WiFi and offline video-on-demand services to passengers.

 

Train Hostess Facility in Gatimaan Express-

Railway offers Two packages of one and two days’ duration to travel from Gatimaan express.  Rates are different for domestic and foreign passengers. 

 

Reached Agra in 100 mins-

 

A product of the Make in India initiative, the train was indigenously built at an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore at the Kapurthala rail coach factory.
