Jungle Ventures invests in BookMyShow’s Southeast Asia Business

Bigtree Entertainment Singapore Pte Ltd, which owns and operates BookMyShow's South East Asia business said Singapore-based Jungle Ventures has invested in the company. The company however, did not disclose the financial details of the transaction. The capital will be used to strengthen BookMyShow SEA's technology operations and grow its capabilities to cater to the rising entertainment demands in the Southeast Asian region, a company statement said. BookMyShow, the online entertainment ticket booking platform has raised $100 million (Rs 685 crore) in Series D funding round which was led by TPG Growth, the middle market and growth equity investment platform of alternative asset firm TPG. One97 invests $8.95 Mn in Paytm Entertainment

One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm has invested $8.95 Mn (approx Rs 61 Cr) into its wholly subsidiary Paytm Entertainment, as per by more than 50% as per company's filings with Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Paytm Entertainment, the entertainment arm of Paytm deals in ticket booking for movies and other channels has increased its online penetration in India by more than 50%, as claimed by the company. BookMyShow Acquires Video-On-Demand Platform Nfusion

Online entertainment ticketing company BookMyShow on Tuesday said it has acquired video-on- demand platform Nfusion for an undisclosed amount, a move that will help the Mumbai-based firm enhance its audio streaming offerings. Without disclosing the financial details of the transaction, BookMyShow said it acquired Nfusion in an all-cash deal. “We are excited to foray into audio entertainment through our offering ‘Jukebox’ (its online audio entertainment offering), which uses Nfusion’s technology,” BookMyShow director Parikshit Dar told PTI. Online ticketing platform BookMyShow, in which Reliance Industries-controlled Network18 holds a sizeable stake, has recently acquired restaurant-discovery platform Burrp, another Network18-owned firm. Burrp would continue to run as a separate entity said Bigtree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, which runs BookMyShow. The Network18 divestment was made to Foodfesta Wellcare Pvt. Ltd, the BigTree subsidiary that owns and operates BookMyShow, a press statement said. The companies did not reveal the value of the all-cash deal, but a report in The Economic Times called it a “slump sale” and pegged it at a meagre Rs 6.7 lakh. Entertainment ticketing platform BookMyShow today said it has bought 75 per cent stake in Pune-based Townscript for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2014 by Sachin Sharma and Sanchit Malik, Townscript is a DIY (do it yourself) event registration and ticketing platform that allows users to set up events like workshops, conferences and exhibitions. Its platform has already facilitated 12,000 such events across major cities as well as smaller cities like Ludhiana and Jaipur. BookMyShow has acquired Hyderabad-based online ticketing platform, MastiTickets, for an undisclosed sum, a move aimed at consolidating its presence in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The acquisition will include transfer of MastiTickets' key assets along with existing cinema partnerships to BookMyShow, BookMyShow CEO and co-founder Ashish Hemrajani told Pixr8.
