Amul eyes 15 percent growth in turnover despite COVID-19, Doble its Overall revenue in 5 years

New Delhi, 27th April 2020: Indian group GCMMF, which markets dairy products under Amul brand, expects its turnover to grow 15 percent this fiscal year from Rs 38,550 crore in 2019-20 despite economic slowdown caused by the nationwide lockdown to control coronavirus outbreak. The household consumption of milk and other dairy products is expected to rise and will compensate any temporary loss of sales caused by the closure of hotels, restaurants, and cafeterias (HoReCA segment) during the ongoing lockdown period, said R S Sodhi, the managing director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF). As per the company's financial data, Sales of Amul Federation and its 18-member union rose 17 percent year-on-year and crossed Rs 50,000 crore in the year ended March 31, 2020....

Amul MD Appointed Director of India Postal Payment Banks

Amul Managing Director R S Sodhi has been appointed as independent director on the board of India Post Payment Banks (IPPB) -- the payments bank arm of postal department. "GCMMF Managing Director R S Sodhi has been appointed independent director on the board of IPPB," an official source said. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) sells the Amul brand of milk products. Sodhi is one of the five independent members to be appointed on the board IPPB, which is set to be operational in March 2017. The board will have four in-house representatives. IPPB came into existence after it received certificate of incorporation from the Registrar of Companies on August 17. Mother Dairy Eyes Rs 10,000-cr Turnover in 3 yrs

Leading milk supplier of India, Mother Dairy is eyeing to cross Rs 10,000 crore turnover mark in next three years on rising demand for dairy products as well as fresh and processed fruits and vegetables. Mother Dairy, which supplies about 30 lakh litres of milk in the national capital region has posted a turnover of Rs 7,186 crore during last fiscal, out of which about 75 percent is from its dairy business. "We are aiming for more than Rs 10,000 crore turnover by the end of FY19 with expected rise in sales across all the segments," Mother Dairy MD S Nagarajan said. In a bid to expand its market, Mother Dairy is in the process of establishing a 25,000 tonnes per year integrated food and vegetable processing plant in Ranchi at an estimated cost of Rs 75 crore.
