InMobi Launches a Suite of Advanced Video Ad Formats

InMobi, a global mobile advertising and discovery platform, today announced the launch of a suite of advanced video ad formats in India. With full screen formats and HD quality videos, advertisers will now be able to offer a TV-like experience to users. The platform includes a comprehensive suite of ad formats including vertical videos, interactive videos, 360 degree videos, opt-in videos and in-stream videos. Indian Mobile Advertising Firm InMobi Pay $950k Fine For Tracking Locations of Its US Consumers

In a report, Us based FTC ordered InMobi, SoftBank-backed Indian mobile advertising firm to pay $950,000 civil penalties for tracking locations of "hundreds of millions of consumers - including children - without their knowledge or consent" to serve their geo-targeted advertising. InMobi is subject to a $4 million penalty but the agency suspended the fine to $950,000 "based on the company's financial condition". This settlement comes at a time when InMobi is struggling to raise funds. Sony Generates 1200 Cr Revenue From IPL 9

Broadcaster Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has mopped up Rs 1,200 crore in advertising revenue from Indian Premier Leagues (IPL) ninth season, a growth of 20 per cent over last year. It had clocked an advertising revenue of Rs 1,000 crore from IPL 8. "We have had a 20 per cent growth in revenue. This was largely based on the change in (advertising) rates," SPN India President Rohit Gupta said. SPN had hiked its advertisement rate by 15 per cent for IPL this year. The spot rate for sponsors was Rs 5.25 lakh. The spot buy rate was Rs 5.75 lakh for standard definition channels, while for HD, price was between Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh for 10-seconds. Digital Ad Spending in India Will Touched $1 bn in 2017, $11.82 billion in 2020: eMarketer

Digital ad spending in India is forecast to surpass the USD 1-billion mark, accounting for 14.3 per cent of the total media advertisement outlay, in 2017, a report by eMarketer today said. The report, which pegs the total media advertisement spending to grow to over USD 8.2 billion next year, said advertisers in India will spend more than USD 1.1 billion towards digital advertisement. "This year, just 12.6 per cent of all advertisement spending will go towards digital. In 2017, digital ad spending in India will surpass USD 1 billion and will amount to 14.3 per cent of total outlays. It’s a Danish ad for Coca-Cola Life. Companies often engage in targeted advertising campaigns, but one of the world’s largest beverage makers recently put out an ad with a message that can only be deciphered by less than 5% of the global population. The Coca-Cola Company recently deployed the advertising campaign in Denmark and it features an image that looks to most people like one large circle comprised of smaller, green and brown-ish colored circles arranged in a unique pattern. Apparently, though, as Adweek notes, the image’s pattern reveals the word “Life,” but only people who are color blind are able to pick up the message.
