India Finally Rolls Out the ‘Desi’ GPS Module Based on IRNSS

We all have been hearing a lot about the ‘desi’ GPS module ever since last year and finally, it has been rolled out and has become a reality. At a recent event in New Delhi, ST Microelectronics and MobileTek launched UTraQ which is a GPS module based on India Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) to track locations. As of now, the GPS-based applications in electronic devices were based on the feed given by the US satellites, but UTraQ will be based on India’s own satellite system that would give much more accurate and reliable location information. Indian Government Hikes the Interest Rate of Small Savings Schemes

The Indian government has come up with new hikes in the interest rate on small savings schemes including public provident fund or PPF and also on Kisan Vikas Patra or KVP. The interest rate of PPF has been altered to 8% interest rate for the October to December quarter, up from 7.6% in the current quarter. On the other hand, for the KVP, the interest rate has been taken to 7.7% from 7.3% in the current quarter. This means that KVP will now mature or double in 118 months as compared to 112 months earlier. The announcement regarding the change in these interest rates was made by the finance ministry today. The government recently came up with the move of identification of the directors of the companies through KYC and as many as 21 lakh out of 33 lakh directors of companies failed to comply with KYC norms. With this, the government has started the process of de-activating their identification numbers. The Director Identification Numbers (DINs) is a unique number allotted to individuals who are eligible to have directorship on the boards of registered companies, and this number is going to be deactivated by the government. EVs to Get Upto Rs 1.4 Lakh Subsidy, Petrol Cars to Become Expensive

Nowadays, electric vehicles are getting major attraction and therefore, the government has reportedly decided to offer a direct subsidy of around Rs 1.4 lakh for each electric car with an aim to boost sales of the electric vehicles, including cars and two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
