Indian Crowdfunding Platform BitGiving is Shutting Down

The Delhi-based crowdfunding platform BitGiving is reportedly signing off from its services and will shut down from the 30th of September, 2018. With the shutting down of the company, the platform, all the campaigns and individual/ organization profiles will come to an end.

BitGiving is a platform that offers people to raise funds in diverse categories that give wings to the ideas of entrepreneurs, creative minds and social issues. It offers funds in categories ranging from Social Causes, Startups to Creative & Entrepreneurial Ideas.

The company claims that its primary motive has always been to help innovate individual fundraising for Not for Profit organizations and individual projects via crowdfunding and various other technology tools.

“In the last 5 years, we’ve been part of some spectacular stories and have loved being a part of the community that you have built with us at BitGiving. It has been a hard decision to take, but due to circumstances beyond our control, this is the only viable option that we have at this point,” said Ishita Anand, founder and CEO, BitGiving.

The company is compelled to take such a tough decision due to the unbearable circumstances, however, BitGiving is giving all its users enough time to be able to go through their profiles on the platform and download any data that they might require.

Founded in 2013 by Ishita Anand, the company carried campaigns in various categories including children, women, education, health, disaster among others. The trending campaigns that the company recently did were Stand with Kerala! #FloodRelief, ResQ Kerala’s Flood Affected Animals #ResQThem, Aao Baat Karein and many more.

The company from now on won’t be taking up any further campaigns, but the campaigns currently running on the platform would continue without any interruption till the 30th of September, which is the shutting down day of the company.

“However, feel free to reach out to us if you have any other questions, we’re here to make the transition as easy as we can for all of you,” the company said.

The founder in a mail stated that the company is thankful to all the users for their trust and support, and also for being a part of the BitGiving family and making amazing things happen. The company is extremely proud of the product that they have created with the help of all the users.
