Twitter Inc reported its slowest revenue growth since going public in 2013 and set a disappointing forecast, fanning concerns that faster growing social media services will make it a niche product. The microblogging service operator's shares fell 11 percent in extended trading to $16.40. While Twitter struggles to find a way to boost user growth and win over advertisers, social media services such as Instagram and Snapchat are expanding their footprints. Twitter Invests $70 million in SoundCloud

Reuters- Twitter Inc has invested about $70 million in Berlin-based music service SoundCloud, technology website Re/code reported citing people familiar with the deal. Twitter confirmed the investment, but did not provide any financial details. "Earlier this year we made an investment in SoundCloud through Twitter Ventures to help support some of our efforts with creators," Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey said. Soundcloud, a platform that enables people to upload and share music and other audio files, also confirmed that Twitter had made the investment. A hacking group OurMine Team has claimed responsibility for Hacking social media accounts belonging to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter and Pinterest accounts were hijacked by the hacker group on Sunday. “Hey @finkd, you were in Linkedin Database with the password ‘dadada’ !,” the team wrote from Zuckerberg’s Twitter page. On his Pinterest, the new title was “Hacked by OurMine Team.” Ouch. Snapchat Overtake Twitter in Number of Daily Users Mark

Snapchat now has more daily users than Twitter, according to a report from Bloomberg.The four year-old messaging app, which is hugely popular with millennials, reportedly has 150 million daily active users compared to less than 140 million users for Twitter. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey did not take salary or stock options since he joined the struggling micro-blogging website last year and received personal and residential security costs totaling $68,506, a media report said on Saturday. Chinese Twitter-like platform Sina Weibo will cancel its 140-word limit, a move Twitter is reportedly considering. Sino Weibo management team has sent a letter to its developers on Wednesday. However, Weibo users have always been allowed to write posts longer than 140 words. But previously they were required to type the extra content on a different site and link back to Weibo.
