Shiprocket raises USD 13 mn in Series C Round

Tech based logistics aggregator Shiprocket raises USD 13 million (about Rs 100 crore) in Series C funding round. The funding was led by Tribe Capital LLC and Innoven Capital and it also saw participation from existing investor Bertelsmann India Investments. The latest round of Shiprocket's will make its total funding to USD 26 million. "The investment will be used to fuel Shiprocket's aggressive product development roadmap which includes hiring top talent across data science and engineering domains. The funds will also be focused on the company's new initiatives including its international expansions," it added. Bike rental startup Bounce raises $3 million

Bike rental startup Bounce has raised $3 million in debt funding from existing investors Innoven Capital. The funding will use to expand its operation. Till date, Bounce raised over $22.5 million in two rounds and the total debt funding from Innoven is now $6 million. As per the news, the bike rental is also in talks with Facebook co-founder Singapore based fund for further investment. Founded in 2014, the Bengaluru based Bounce has a fleet of 5,000 keyless bikes. Bounce offered premium motorcycle rentals under the Wicked Rides banner, it later added commute bikes under the Metro Bikes label, re-branded as Bounce in August 2018. Start-up companies in India are expected to raise $700 million and create 5,000 jobs in next 12 months, as per India Startup Outlook Report 2016 by InnoVen Capital. "About 130 companies are expected to raise $700 million in the next 12 months," said the report. InnoVen Capital India has provided over 100 loans to 70 companies across early to mid-growth stage that include Snapdeal, Freecharge, Myntra, Practo, Portea, PepperTap, Byju's, Faasos, Capillary Technologies and Manthan Systems.
