U.S President Lashes Out at Amazon for paying “No-Taxes”

US President Donald Trump slammed American e-commerce and cloud based company “Amazon” for paying “no-taxes” to local and state government and is reportedly seeking for more stringent regulations on the Seattle-based company, which is currently a global name all over the world, including India.

In his tweet posted on Thursday morning, Trump directed his aim over Amazon stating how the company plays immense role on people’s everyday’s life, where they shop and how the company garners taxes from sales and delivers packages to its customers.

I have stated my concerns long before the elections. Unlike other company, Amazon pays very little or absolutely no taxes to local and state government. Moreover, it uses country’s postal system as their delivery boy(causing tremendous loss to the US) putting thousands of retailers out of business !”

The White House was seen defending the President’s statement wherein deputy press secretary, Lindsay Walters said, ” We have heard the president expressing his concerns over Amazon , where he is already made clear that some users are not paying taxes and putting retailers out of business.” She also added that the action against the commerce giant is being planned and will be implemented soon.

Surprisingly, Trump’s statement has come out right after when a news site called the president “obsessed” with Amazon, alleging the company to be receiving biased treatment with its postal service agreement and failing to pay enough taxes to state and local government.

Trump is also known to share a cold relationship with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who seems to be the owner of Washington Post currently. During the time of presidential elections too, Trump had put allegations over the Washington post for pitting against him. This has resulted in a stark drop in Amazon shares by nine percent at that time.

Jeff Bezos who happens to be the richest man in the world had his net worth dropped by $10.7.Amazon on the other hand has not responded so far to president’s tweet.
