Samsung’s Foldable Smartphone Expected To Be Highly Priced

Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone has become the talk of the hour and the company is expected to announce the launch of the smartphone named Galaxy X next year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. The price of the phone is predicted to be as high as KRW 2 million which is approximately Rs.1,25,000.

The report highlights that the smartphone brand is targeting a late February or early March release date, which is a clear hint that the device could be launched during MWC 2019. The good part is that Samsung will be the first smartphone company in the world to launch a phone with a foldable screen. However, the smartphone Galaxy X is expected to be insanely expensive because of its uniqueness.

One of the features of the phone includes that the device will have a 7.3-inch OLED screen when opened and 4.5-inches when folded. Talking about the design, the phone will have two screens inside and one screen on the outer side. This means that  the phone can be used even when the other two panels are folded. Along with that, the Galaxy X could also be positioned as a laptop.

Samsung is expected to manufacture the foldable device using a flexible material which will enable the phone to bend when pressure is applied. It is also being expected that Galaxy X will come with a pressure sensitive display which can regulate the amount of pressure one applies on the screen. The technology enables the phone OS to respond according to the pressure level. Along with this, the phone will most probably will come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845.

The smartphone company has been working on the Galaxy X for years and the company is making proress on the manufacturing of the phone. According to the reports, the manufacturing will start in November. It is being anticipated that Samsung will manufacture the Galaxy X in a limited amount initially so that it can check the demand of the device.
