Indian Developer Raja Vijayaraman wins the Apple’s Design Award

A Chennai-based app developer Raja Vijayaraman has been awarded the reputable Apple’s Design Award yesterday for his iOS app ‘Calzy’ on the very first day of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2018, which is being hosted in San Jose, California. The WWDC offers prestigious awards to the best iOS app developers across the globe.

Vijayaraman’s app called Calzy which is a modern and beautifully designed calculator app for iPhone/iPad was chosen by Apple for the award. The award is given on the basis of the creative artistry and technicality of the developer that reflected the best in design, innovation and technology on Apple platforms.

Unlike most calculator apps, which only let you make one calculation, Calzy lets you do a lot more. It is an iOS calculator application which is highly customizable and offers multitasking, Face ID and touch ID. One of its considerable features “Memory Area” which allows the users to store multiple numerical values and reuse it across multiple calculating sessions with a simple drag and drop interaction. It also has a distinctive bookmarking feature where we can save any of our calculations with date and title for future reference.

In a statement, Apple said, “This helps privately viewed saved history and bookmarks, Drag & Drop to share results in other apps, iMessage integration, Spotlight search for bookmarked results, iCloud Sync and Handoff, to help you perform day-to-day mathematical calculations in a more elegant way.”

This year, the award winners comprise developers from across the world, including Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, India, Netherlands, Turkey and the US.
