Just post its Annual Developer Conference I/O 2018, Google has come out with a new, low-cost storage plan called ‘Google One’ which is a revamped version of its Google Drive online storage subscription.

The new Google One plan will start at 100GB for $1.99 which is the same price as Drive. However, under the new plan, an additional 200GB plan will be available for $2.99.

Also, the current 1TB plan for $9.99 will also offer double space of up to 2TB. However, plans larger than 2TB will not be changed in terms of pricing.

Pavni Diwanji, Vice President, Google One said in her blog note,

Thanks to mobile phones and new file formats like 4K video and high-res photography, people are storing more than ever before. That’s why we’re introducing ‘Google One’, a simple plan for expanded storage that includes extra benefits to help you get more out of Google.

The new Google One will enable users a one-tap access to experts for help with consumer products and services. Moreover, it will come with “family sharing” feature allowing users to share their plan with up to five people. The best part- All those on the shared plan with will get their own private storage space, all on a single bill.

In a few months, the tech giant will upgrade all paid consumers of Google Drive storage plans to Google One. However, the company has reported that this change will not affect ‘G Suite‘ business customers.

At Present, a free 15GB of storage is provided to all customers with every account including Google apps like Photos, Drive, Docs and Gmail.
