Facebook Launches Video-on-Demand Service Facebook Watch

With all the social media platforms coming up with various innovations, Facebook has also introduced its Facebook Watch video-on-demand service for all users. With this particular feature, the users can view video on different categories like sports, news, entertainment along with videos from content creators.

Facebook Watch will provide an experience similar to that of YouTube where users can comment and react to videos on real time. This feature was first launched in 2017 in the US, however, now it will be available for all the users. The company is basically launching the Watch service globally to boost its advertisement revenue.

“Taking Watch global also means new opportunities for creators and publishers around the world. We’re expanding our Ad Breaks program so more partners can make money from their videos, and we’re offering new insights, tools and best practices for Pages in Creator Studio,” said Fidji Simo, Head of Video.

The users can enjoy this feature by clicking on the Facebook Watch icon which is located in the shortcuts bar or the “More” bookmark. The users can see their Watchlist at the top of the Watch feed which will show a collection of recent videos from Pages followed by the user.

This service will also be made available on Samsung Smart TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Oculus TV and Xbox One. Along with this, the option to customize the Watch section by following more Pages or removing Pages from the follow list within Watch will also be available for the users.

Meanwhile, the Facebook app will now come with support for Android’s notification channel. With this tool, users will get more swiftness to manage their Facebook account by the option to choose the notifications that they wish to see like birthday notifications, friend requests, people you may know etc. and not be bothered by others that are not needed.
