All About the Newly Launched Pixel 3 and Other Google Devices

The technology giant Google launched its third edition of Pixel smartphone, a Google Home smart speaker with a display and its first tablet computer on Tuesday. The company with these launches is making a larger push into hardware.

Google Pixel has been a great success since its launch and the topped Amazon in smart speaker sales in recent quarters. Google’s Android software has gone from being an also-ran to the brains of most of the world’s smartphones.

The new smartphone Pixel 3 is priced at $799, and its larger sibling Pixel 3 XL is priced at $899. With Google’s latest entries into a phone lineup it hopes will someday be as popular as Apple’s iPhone.

Talking about Indian price, the Pixel 3 smartphone in the country is priced at Rs 71,000 (64GB) and 80,000 (128GB) while Pixel 3XL is priced at 83,000 (64GB) and Rs 92,000 (128GB).

The newly launched devices are expected to be available from November 1, 2018, with pre-orders starting from tomorrow (October 11) on Flipkart, Airtel’s online store, and at offline partners including Reliance Digital, Croma and other leading stores across India.

“We’ve built the first phone that can answer the phone,” Rick Osterloh, Google’s senior vice president for hardware said.

The Pixel Slate that was also launched is priced at $599, putting it in competition with Apple’s iPad Pro tablet series. The company also unveiled a new smart speaker Google Home Hub, which has a display to show visual responses to voice commands. However, Home Hub, priced at $149, does not have a video conferencing camera.

It might be interesting to watch the success of the newly launched devices.
