Amid of all the privacy and security scams going on around the world, the threat research company Quick Heal Security Labs has come across two Trojan banking virus designed to rob financial or banking information of people by the usage of some of the most popular social media and banking apps. According to the security labs, these Trojan malware hide themselves behind the icon of Adobe Flash Player and the term ‘update’. As soon as the user installs it on his smartphone, the malware acquires access to special privileges by forcing users to select the ‘Activate’ button.
There are various mobile applications that the Trojan has created to impersonate and trick the users. And thus, after getting those special privileges, it searches for these apps on the infected phones and further displays an unreal window that asks for the user’s debit/credit card number. If the user enters the card number, the banking malware gathers the personal information and sends it to a destructive server.
