Y Combinator backed Digital Payment Firm Cashfree raises $35 million

Bengaluru-based fintech, Cashfree raises USD 35.3 million (approximately ₹ 260 crore) as part of its Series B round. The investment was led by Uk based Apis Growth Fund II, with participation from existing investor Y Combinator. Cashfree, a payments and banking technology company that enables businesses in India to collect payments online and make payouts, was founded by Akash Sinha and Reeju Datta in 2015. The company is a 2017 alumnus of Y Combinator, the start-up incubator based in San Francisco, and has grown exponentially, processing over $ 12 billion annualised payment volumes as of March 2020, the statement said. US-Based Y Combinator Backs Indian Rental Startup ZiffyHomes

Home rental service startup ZiffyHomes which is based in Gurugram has secured an amount of $120,000 from a US-based startup incubator Y Combinator. This investment by Y Combinator has been made for its summer cohort 2018. It had earlier made an investment in one more Indian startup for the same. Cashfree Raises USD 120k From Y Combinator

Payments platform Cashfree today said it has received USD 120,000 in seed funding from Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator Y Combinator. Cashfree was one of 130 startups globally selected for Y Combinator's Summer 2017 batch and more than 7,000 applications were received this year, a statement said. "The products we have built are first of their kind and are helping businesses scale and innovate faster. We already are a profitable business and are looking to process Rs 200 crore of monthly payments by the end of the year," co-founder Akash Sinha said. The startup claims to process more than Rs 50 crore of payments every month and has 1,100 merchants on its platform. Mumbai Based Car rental startup JustRide raises 20 Crore (about $3 million) funding from global investors, including Y-Combinator partners. Justride will use funding for expanding the company's car-sharing platform JustConnect and developing Yabber, an IoT device that works on connected car technology and data analytics to analyze the driving skills of the customers.
