Whatsapp Launched a Mobile Like Desktop App

Whatsapp, world's leading chat based messenger app has launched a desktop app so you have a new way to stay in touch anytime and anywhere - whether on your phone or computer at home or work. Like WhatsApp Web, your desktop app is simply an extension of your phone: the app mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device. The new desktop app is available for Windows 8+ and Mac OS 10.9+ and is synced with WhatsApp on your mobile device. Because the app runs natively on your desktop, you'll have support for native desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more. New System Finds Security Flaws in Popular Web Apps

MIT researchers have developed a system that can quickly comb through tens of thousands of lines of application codes to find security flaws in popular web applications. In tests on 50 popular applications written using Web programming framework Ruby on Rails, the system found 23 previously undiagnosed security flaws, and took no more than 64 seconds to analyse any given programme. According to researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US, the new system uses a technique called static analysis which seeks to describe in a very general way how data flows through a programme. "The classic example of this is if you wanted to do an abstract analysis of a programme that manipulates integers, you might divide the integers into the positive integers, the negativ...

China’s country code domain “.cn” becomes world’s largest

According to the data released yesterday by the China Internet Network Information Centre (CNNIC), which manages the domain, '.cn' had 16.36 million users by the end of 2015. The '.cn' domain is also world leading in domain resolution service, security and the ratio of benign uses, said CNNIC head Li Xiaodong. As China began to require real-name registration in 2009, the '.cn' domain is able to protect users' interests and reduce online theft, phishing and fraud, Li said. In the past, Germany's '.de' domain had the largest number of registered websites. The domain is not only widely used by Chinese institu...
