Thomson Reuters Will Launches Tech Center in Toronto

Thomson Reuters Corp said it plans to create a new technology center in Toronto by hiring 400 people over the next two years, and that its chief executive and chief financial officer will move to the Canadian city in 2017. CEO Jim Smith and CFO Stephane Bello currently work out of the company's office in Stamford, Connecticut. Additional management roles will be relocated and recruited locally in Toronto over the next few years, Thomson Reuters said in a statement on Friday. Thomson Reuters Acquired Tech Firm REDI

World's largest international multimedia news agency Thomson Reuters has agreed to acquire trading technology firm REDI Holdings, it said in a statement on Thursday. Thomson Reuters said the REDIPlus execution management system would strengthen its Eikon financial markets desktop by making it easier for institutional customers to trade seamlessly on the platform. The statement gave no details on the cost of the transaction. "Integrating REDI into Thomson Reuters solutions will enable us to transform Eikon into a world-class trading solution for the buy-side," said Michael Chin, managing director, global head of equities at Thomson Reuters.
