Artificial Intelligence: A Future Face Of The Startups

With the effort of Tesla of introducing AI to self- drive  capability,it has shown others the infinite possibilities AI is sitting upon! In the near future, AI might get so involved and integrated in our daily lives that we could not imagine a service without it.  The field of artificial intelligence has a transformative capability over many things that govern our daily lives. Companies from the fields of Tech and Automobiles are leaving no stones unturned to integrate AI in their systems. Legacy companies won't have a choice — consumer demand will compel them to invest in new technologies and AI is a prime example of the breakthroughs they seek. As computers get smarter and learn more, many of the factors causing accidents, injuries and fatalities will disappear. With the adv...

Real Story Behind Tesla Autopilot Crash in Model S From Tesla

We learned yesterday evening that NHTSA is opening a preliminary evaluation into the performance of Autopilot during a recent fatal crash that occurred in a Model S, Tesla wrote on its official blog. Company has also recognized and described how the autopilot mode accident occurs. The company said that this is the first known fatality in just over 130 million miles where Autopilot was activated. Among all vehicles in the US, there is a fatality every 94 million miles. Worldwide, there is a fatality approximately every 60 million miles. It is important to emphasize that the NHTSA action is simply a preliminary evaluation to determine whether the system worked according to expectations. Following standard practice, Tesla informed NHTSA about the incident immediately after it occurred. ...

Chinese Tech Giant Baidu Planning of Mass-Producion of Driverless Cars

Chinese tech giant Baidu today said it plans to begin mass-production of driverless cars in five years as part of its efforts to get ahead of its US rivals Google and Tesla Motors in the autonomous vehicle technology. President Zhang Yaqin said Baidu will carry out road tests of driverless cars in 10 Chinese cities, with the aim to commercialise the technology in three years and realise mass production in five years. The move is a significant step for the Beijing-based tech company trying to get ahead of Google in building autonomous cars, and is marshalling the resources to advance the effort. During the ongoing Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2016, or Summer Davos, in Tianjin, Zang told state-run Xinhua news agency that the core technology of Baidus driverless cars, was the "B...

Exclusive: Apple Explores Charging Stations For Electric Vehicles

Apple is investigating how to charge electric cars, talking to charging station companies and hiring engineers with expertise in the area, according to the sources. The moves show Apple responding to a key shortcoming of electric vehicles: "filling up" the batteries. A shortage of public charging stations, and the hours wasted in charging a car, could be an opportunity for Apple, whose simple designs have transformed consumer electronics. Apple, which has never publicly acknowledged a car project, declined to comment for this story. Last year Apple was studying a self-driving electric vehicle (EV), as the Silicon Valley icon looks for new sources of revenue amid a maturing market for its iPhone. It is unclear whether Apple would want its own proprietary technology, such as Tesla M...

Tesla says Model 3 orders top $10 billion in first 36 hours

Tesla Motors Inc said orders for its new Model 3 electric sedan topped 253,000 bookings in the first 36 hours, a fast start for the company's first mass-market vehicle, which may not begin to reach customers for another 18 months or more. Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk tweeted on Friday that the Model 3, which is slated to go into production in late 2017, will sell at an average price of $42,000, including the price of options and additional features, which would give the initial flurry of orders an estimated retail value of $10.6 billion. That intense interest, fanned in part by a steady stream of tweets by Musk, could help boost Tesla's stock price, which closed Friday at $237.59, up 3.4 percent. The stock has soared more than 60 percent since hitting a 12-month low in Feb...

Solar batteries – The Surprising Reason on Why Indian PM Modi Visited Tesla

Written by Prashin Chaturvedi, Business Transformation Leader -  India's Prime Minister Mr. Modi visited the Silicon Valley last month, and on the itinerary were the obvious inclusions - Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft. Also on the list was a curious entry - Tesla.  Why Tesla? Modi surely did not make the high-profile visit to get an early sneak peak into the new Model X. Modi, it turns out, wasn't there to bring Tesla's relatively expensive electric car technology to India, he was there to learn more about one of Tesla's lesser known products - their lithium-ion home battery system - Powerwall. Great discussion about solar/batteries empowering rural communities — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) Sep 27, 2015 Powerwall is a wall-mounted lithium-ion home battery system designed to store energy f...
