Google Launches Its “World’s Best Camera Smartphone “

Tech giant Google unveiled the second generation of its Pixel smartphone - Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL - which will be available in India from November 15 priced at Rs 61,000 onwards. The devices, which will compete in the premium segment with devices like Apples iPhone 8 and X as well as Samsungs Note 8, will be available in five other markets including the US, the UK and Australia. Google said that with Pixel, it has "created the world's best smartphone camera". Cant find your TV remote again? Scientists have developed a technology that can turn everyday objects - such as teacups or toy cars - into remote controls for televisions. Researchers from Lancaster University in the UK show a novel technique that allows body movement, or movement of objects, to be used to interact with screens. The Matchpoint technology, which only requires a simple webcam, works by displaying moving targets that orbit a small circular widget in the corner of the screen. These targets correspond to different functions - such as volume, changing channel or viewing a menu. Software Testing For GST Complete, Ready For Smooth Rollout: GSTN

GST Network, the company providing technology backbone for the new indirect tax regime today said it has completed all software trials and testings necessary to successfully rollout GST from July 1. Over 66 lakh taxpayers have enrolled on the GSTN portal, Chairman Navin Kumar said. "GST IT system has undergone all mandatory tests and has been opened for new registrations and enrolments on June 25. We would like to assure everyone that the system is functioning smoothly," he said. Indian Government Approved a Start-up Incubation Centre for Mangaluru

The Indian government has approved a start-up incubation centre for Mangaluru to provide basic facilities for people intending to set up self-employment units, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said. The Centre would start functioning within four months with an investment of Rs 1.18 crore, she said. Facilities would be provided to 60 start-up companies at the centre in the initial phase, the Minister of state for for Commerce and Industry said after inspecting the site identified for the centre here last evening. IFC Invests $3 Million in AI Focused Fund Pi Ventures

International Finance Corporation (IFC), a part of the World Bank Group, is investing USD 3mn in pi Ventures maiden fund. The amount will be used by the early stage venture fund to invest in companies leveraging technologies such as applied artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and IoT across a range of sectors, it said in a statement here. IFC is making investments through the IFC Startup Catalyst programme, which aims to build local ecosystems to drive innovation and entrepreneurship. IFC's venture capital investments in India include online grocery major BigBasket, edutech startup Byju's, Portea, a company providing affordable home care and BlackBuck, a leading player in elogistics.
