The government is focussed on improving infrastructure and driving innovation to ensure that India ranks among the top 30 countries in terms of ease of doing business in the next 3-4 years, Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said today. An augmented reality-based education technology startup Smartivity, has raised about Rs 6.6 crore in a pre-Series-A round of funding led by publishing firm S Chand and early-stage investment firm AdvantEdge Partners. The round also saw participation from Singapore-based fund CFG Offshore Holdings, Silicon Valley-based fund Tandem Capital and a clutch of angel investors. In first of its kind, Indian Institute of Technology Madras incubated a clean water technology company InnoNano Research finalized an agreement with US-based energy and water investment firm NanoHoldings for an $18 million investment.
