IIT Kharagpur Partners With Samsung for Digital Academy

IIT-Kharagpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Samsung India for the setting up of a digital academy on the institute's campus. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the institute would host the Samsung Innovation Lab and train students on the Internet of Things (IoT) through Tizen-based operating systems, commonly used by the company for its mobile phones and home appliances. IoT is a network of computing devices embedded in objects of everyday use for storage and exchange of information. Digital payments company MobiKwik has recently partnered with Samsung Pay, under which consumers will be able to make payments with a single tap using selected Samsung handsets. Samsung India Launches Solar-Powered Refrigerators

Consumer electronics major Samsung India has launched a range of solar powered smart convertible frost-free and direct cool refrigerators, targeting the semi urban and rural customers. Smart convertible refrigerator, which is the first of its kind in frost-free category, will have prices starting at Rs 27,250 and its mid-segment range begins from 253-litre and has multiple sizes up to 670-litre. On the other hand, smart digital inverter direct cool refrigerators' price will start at Rs 14,900, and the products range from 192 litre to 230 litre and will be available across key markets, the company said in a statement.
