Practo, ICICI Lombard Launches Health Insurance App For OPD Expenses

Private sector general insurance firm ICICI Lombard has partnered healthcare platform Practo to launch a health insurance app 'IL TakeCare' that takes cares of Outpatient (OPD) expenses of all its customers. "The app meets key customer requirements with respect to their primary healthcare needs. This includes hassle-free, real-time claim authentication of expenses such as doctor consultation, medical tests, pharmacy spends etc," ICICI Lombard General Insurance, MD, Bhargav Dasgupta said. Google Backed Online Healthcare Startup Practo Lays Off 150 Employees

Online healthcare platform Practo has laid off around 10% of its workforce amounting to 150 employees as part of its annual performance appraisal and redundancies due to acquisitions. “Yesterday, 150 of our colleagues left the company to pursue opportunities outside. This is a combination of natural redundancies that emerge as we integrate our 5 acquisitions and evolve our businesses, as well as the performance required for the next phase of Practo’s growth,” a company spokesperson said in an email response. India’s Biggest Online Healthcare Platform Practo Expand Overseas

Digital healthcare platform Practo is intensifying expansion in key markets, including Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and eastern Europe besides adding 65 new cities in India during 2016. The Bengaluru-based firm claims it manages over 40 million appointments across 35 cities in India and in countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, and Brazil. Practo, Healthcare startup forays into Indonesian market

Healthcare startup Practo today said it has forayed into the Indonesian market with its product, 'Practo Search'. Practo has a presence in India, Philippines and Singapore and has a team of 1,500 employees. Indonesians will be able to search for over 4,200 verified doctors in over 60 percent of all clinics across Jakarta DKI, using Practo website or an app that has been specially built for the region, Practo said in a statement. The product, available in Indonesian and English language, will allow consumers to book appointments for doctors online, it added.
