Jumbotail, an Online Marketplace For Food and Grocery Raises $8.5 Million

Jumbotail, an online marketplace for food and grocery, today said it has raised USD 8.5 million (over Rs 55 crore) from Kalaari Capital and existing investor, Nexus Venture Partners. The company plans to utilise the funds for strengthening its technology platform and enhancing operational capabilities, Jumbotail said in a statement. Jumbotail will also expand its team, but details of the same were not disclosed. Founded in November 2015, Jumbotail serves thousands of wholesale customers such as kirana stores and HORECA (hotel/restaurant/cafe) businesses in Bengaluru. Jabong Records 50% Growth in Net Revenues, 40% Increase in App installation

Fashion e-tailer Jabong said it saw 50 percent revenue growth month-on-month in October, closing the month with positive unit economics for the first time in its history. The Myntra-owned company achieved a positive gross profit for the first time ever, propelled by revenue growth and fulfillment cost reduction, Jabong said in a statement. However, the company did not specify the gross profit made or the total revenues for October. "Jabong has closed October with the first ever positive unit economics month, becoming only the second online e-commerce company in India to do so after Myntra," it added. Amazon to Soon Allow Chinese Merchants Sell Goods in 185 countries, Regions

Chinese merchants will soon be able to sell their goods in 185 countries and regions through e-commerce giant Amazon's online marketplace, state media reported today. Amazon signed a deal with a cross-border e-commerce pilot zone in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, to let traders use its site to sell to its 285-million active paying customers worldwide. Amazon's global logistic network will deliver goods from China to 185 countries and regions, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. Cross-border sales account for nearly one fourth of total revenue from third party merchants in Amazon's global marketplaces.
