Indian eCommerce platforms reported USD 8.3 bn GMV during festive Sales

New Delhi, 28th Nov 2020: India's e-commerce festive sale season from October 15-November 15 this year delivered USD 8.3 billion (about Rs 58,000 crore) worth of gross sales for brands and sellers, up 65 percent from USD 5 billion (Rs 35,000 crore) last year, research firm RedSeer said on Friday. This was also higher than the pre-festive forecast of USD 7 billion, RedSeer said in its report titled 'The Festival of Firsts'. About USD 3.2 billion (Rs 22,000 crore) worth of gross sales was registered in September this year, which zoomed to USD 8.3 billion in the festive period, the report said. Nykaa Raises 75 Crore, Valuation is Close to 3000 Crore

Mumbai based Nykaa.com, an online beauty retailer has raised ₹75 crore in its latest round of funding from the existing investors. The current funding was the part of ₹170 crore investment round. The first amount was raised around 95 crores. Now the current valuation of the company is close to ₹3,000 crore. This is the fourth round of investment for the company. The total funding amount was raised about ₹255 crore at a valuation of 3000 crores. Also, three previous investors in Nykaa has sold their parts of equity including TVS Capital Funds. Online Retailer Nykaa.com To Raise Rs 60-100 Cr

Online beauty retailer Nykaa.com today said it plans to raise Rs 60-100 crores for marketing and setting up warehouses even as it focuses on opening more retail outlets to deepen its footprint. "We plan to raise another Rs 60 to Rs 100 crore from private sources...majority of investment will be into marketing to build the brand, warehouses and also on technology to enable more number of shoppers to shop simultaneously on the portal," Nykaa.com Founder and CEO Falguni Nayar told reporters here.
