Delivery of Tesla Made-in-China Model 3 set for December 30

Tesla China told Pixr8 News that they are aiming to begin deliveries of the all-electric Model 3 sedan from December 30th. That’s far earlier than the company’s own estimates, and immensely earlier than what Tesla’s skeptics have suggested.  Monday’s event will deliver Tesla's 15 Model 3 car to local customers that are comprised of Tesla China employees. The first delivery date of the Made-in-China Model 3 marks the 357th day since Tesla and its construction partner started working on the Gigafactory 3 complex, which was then just a plot of land. The speed upon which Gigafactory 3’s Phase 1 zone was completed marks a new record for global automakers currently operating in China.  The Made-in-China Model 3 is Tesla’s key to the local Chinese auto industry, which also corres...

The EV major Tesla has begun to take orders for its Model 3 sedan in China for a deposit of CNY 8,000 ($1,153.60 or about Rs. 83,000). However, the company declined to comment on the development. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk stated, "Probably some deliveries in March, but April is more certain", after a Twitter user asked when the deliveries in China would begin. The company has been banking on its Model 3 sedan. The performance of the car is seen crucial to the carmaker's future. Shares of Tesla rose 1.6 percent at $353.93 (roughly Rs. 25,500) in morning trading. The company was able to achieve that profitability milestone just through sales in the U.S. and Canada. The company mentioned that it would start to take orders for the Model 3 in Europe and China before the end of 2018. Also, it will begin deliveries of the Model 3 to Europe early next year. “We are aiming to bring portions of Model 3 production to China during 2019 and to progressively increase the level of localizati...

Tesla to Build its own Car Carrier Trailers to Boost Deliveries

With an aim to accelerate deliveries, electric car maker Tesla has started manufacturing its own car carrier trailers as stated by CEO Elon Musk. The company is seeing a production of about 4,000 Model 3 vehicles per week. Also, it is witnessing an increase in delivery volume by a factor of 3-4 in some markets and therefore, logistics is becoming a bottleneck. "Shortages of railway cargo carriers, trucks, trailers and drivers are already common in the industry, but Tesla's sudden volume increase highlights the issue even more," a report stated. Tesla's delivery volume is increasing so much this week as the company is looking to end the quarter strong. The company is now facing a problem where they are running out of car carriers. As it is often the case with Tesla, they decided to com...

The automotive and energy storage company, Tesla has confirmed that the head of Model 3 production, who went on leave after chief executive Elon Musk took over his duties, will not be coming back. The departure of engineering senior vice president Doug Field came as California-based Tesla appeared to have finally hit a self-imposed goal of cranking out 5,000 Model 3 electric cars in a week. Tesla co-founder Elon Musk fired off a Twitter post over the weekend saying "7,000 cars, 7 days." In a note to investors yesterday, Analyst Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities said that in the preceding week, Tesla produced 5,000 of its Model 3 cars, along with a combined total of 2,000 Model S and Model X vehicles. Musk has been managing the Tesla production line, which has been rejiggered to pump o...
