Affle to acquire 8 pc stake in Indus OS for $2.86 million

San Francisco, 3rd July 2020: Mobile advertising company Affle said it will acquire 8 percent stake in smartphone operating system firm Indus OS. "Affle (India) Ltd through its subsidiaries announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire 8 percent ownership in OSLabs Pte Ltd, Singapore, (Indus OS). Indus OS operates India's largest independent indigenous app store, with key investment from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation," Affle said in a statement. According to a regulatory filing, Affle will pay USD 2.86 million or about Rs 21 crore to Indus OS for the stake. Ad-tech company Affle acquire Mediasmart

Ad-tech company Affle has acquired Spanish firm Mediasmart in a $5.5 million (Rs 40.87 crore) deal. Mediasmart provides advertisers, trading desks and agencies an integrated mobile advertising platform. Its proximity marketing solutions allow it to deliver location targeted campaigns with real time footfall tracking and offline attribution. Its total revenue for the financial year ended December 31, 2019, was EUR 5.95 million. Jana to Launch Internet Browser With Free Data Service in India

Mobile advertising company Jana will launch tomorrow an internet browser for Android users that will enable consumers to surf the web by offsetting mobile data costs. The company plans to invest over USD 90 million in India and other emerging markets to strengthen its customer base. Indian Mobile Advertising Firm InMobi Pay $950k Fine For Tracking Locations of Its US Consumers

In a report, Us based FTC ordered InMobi, SoftBank-backed Indian mobile advertising firm to pay $950,000 civil penalties for tracking locations of "hundreds of millions of consumers - including children - without their knowledge or consent" to serve their geo-targeted advertising. InMobi is subject to a $4 million penalty but the agency suspended the fine to $950,000 "based on the company's financial condition". This settlement comes at a time when InMobi is struggling to raise funds.
