Bala Girisaballa Appoint as CEO of Microsoft Accelerator

Microsoft today said Bala Girisaballa will be leading Microsoft Accelerator in India as CEO-in-Residence. Prior to this, Bala was with Globalisation and market expansion advisory Zinnov as Partner and Practice Head helping MNC R&D companies. He took charge of the Accelerators India operations, with effect from August 1. Microsoft also announced that Ravi Narayan, Director, will now assume the role of Global Director at Microsoft Accelerator. Girisaballa will lead the Accelerators efforts to help market-ready startups and entrepreneurs to scale up and become successful businesses through the technology enablement, global go-to-market efforts and deep business advisory in the form of Hi-Po and Scale-Up programs, Microsoft said in a statement here. AdPushup Raises Series A Funding; Enters into Partnership With Japan’s Largest Supply

US-based ad tech startup AdPushup, creator of a patent-pending ad layout optimization platform, has secured an undisclosed amount of financing as part of its Series A round led by Geniee Inc , whose major shareholder is SoftBank Group Corp; other investors include Purvi Capital, and existing investors have also participated in the round. The companies have also formed a strategic partnership aimed at extending services to Japan and Southeast Asia and collaborating mutually on proprietary ad optimization technologies. Microsoft Launches Early Stage Investment Venture Arm That Will Replace Microsoft Accelerator

Nagraj Kashyap, the Corporate VP of Microsoft Ventures announced a new early-stage investment group of Microsoft called Microsoft Venture. The entity will look after investment in early age startups. In his blog, Nagraj mentioned, The Microsoft Venture name was assumed from an existing team within our Developer Evangelism team. That team has now been rebranded to Microsoft Accelerator. Microsoft Ventures will focus on start-up investments while Microsoft Accelerator will focus on start-up enablement, primarily through our seven accelerators around the world.
