Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla Appointed Chairman of IIM-A

One of India's leading businessman Kumar Mangalam Birla has been appointed the new Chairman of the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) by HRD Ministry. The HRD committee also shortlisted the names of Deepak Parekh, Chairman of Housing Development Finance Corporation; R. Seshasayee of Infosys and Pawan Munjal, the CMD of Hero Motocorp. The 49-year-old Chairman of the $41 billion industrial conglomerate Aditya Birla Group is the final choice from HRD ministry. The premier B-school in India has been without a regular Chairman since January when A.M. IIM-A Offer e-learning To Deliver Management Education Through Distance Learning

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will launch e-learning programmes to deliver management education through distance learning. The institute will launch several programmes in the coming months in collaboration with NIIT Ltd and Hughes Education, companies that provide online learning services, the leading business school said in a statement here. The institute has signed agreements with both the companies to deliver management education content using electronic mode in the form of synchronous studio-to-classroom programmes. Babajob.com Joins Facebook’s SME India Council

In a significant development today, babajob.com, India's largest online job marketplace for the informal sector, was identified as a member of the SME India Council set up by Facebook in Asia-Pacific today. Facebook, which has over two million Indian small and medium businesses (SMBs) on its platform, has set up a SME Council to help small ventures from various industries share feedback and discuss ideas around leveraging technology to grow their enterprise.
