LinkedIn Launches Its Lite App Specially For India

LinkedIn has also unveiled a Lite Version of its App finally long after Facebook and Twitter, as the professional networking platform attempts to bring in more users on board. The new LinkedIn Lite Android app is designed to reduce data usage by 80% and is less than 1 MB in size. In September last year, LinkedIn had launched a lightweight version of its mobile website. "LinkedIn Lite app is first being rolled out to members in India... LinkedIn plans to roll out the mobile web version and the Android app in over 60 countries shortly," LinkedIn said in a statement. Pulse Co-founder Akshay Kothari Appointed Head of Linkedin India

Professional networking platform LinkedIn today appointed Akshay Kothari as Country Manager for India, with immediate effect. Kothari will report to Olivier Legrand, LinkedIn s Managing Director for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, and join the company’s APAC senior management team, LinkedIn said in a statement.
