Now You Can Book Tatkal Ticket Using Mobikwik Wallet

Mobile payments network MobiKwik has partnered Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to launch e-cash payments for tatkal bookings. "MobiKwik collaborated with Indian Railways to digitise payments on the IRCTC app and IRCTC FoodOnTrack app this year, and now we are powering payments for tatkal online that will help users book tickets almost instantly," MobiKwik Co-founder Upasana Taku said in a statement today. MobiKwik said instantaneous e-cash payments will help tatkal online in managing the load of over a thousand ticket bookings per minute. The service will also help users in ensuring that their bookings do not get rejected due to payment delays. IRCTC Joins Hands With SBI To Promote Rail Ticketing

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has joined hands with the State Bank of India to chalk out a detailed plan for promotion of rail ticketing activities, including internet ticketing and unreserved ticketing system. IRCTC, a PSU of Railways which handles catering, tourism and Internet ticketing activities, and the SBI have signed an MoU which will also undertake development of Unreserved Ticketing System and such other services which can be jointly undertaken. IRCTC Tie-Up With Defence Food Research For Better Food Quality in Trains

Seeking to upgrade its catering operations, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) today signed an agreement with the Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) here for transfer of technology in food and beverage processing and packaging. Under the agreement, DFRL, a Defence Ministry establishment under Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), will transfer the technical know how and testing for quality assurance to IRCTCs ready-to-eat packaged food for the rail travelers. IRCTC Giving 50 Percent Cash Back on Food, To Boost e-Catering

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a new scheme that provides 50 percent cash back offer on pre-paid orders having a minimum value of Rs 300, a move set to further boost its e-catering facility. The facility has become available on IRCTCs e-catering website since May 13, said IRCTC CMD AK Manocha. The cash back offer is valid only for meals booked through IRCTC and having a value of more than Rs 300 in a single order. Manocha said such a move would give a major fillip to e-catering operations of IRCTC. Railways today dismissed reports about the leak of email and mobile numbers from user profile data of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporations (IRCTC) e-ticketing system and said everything is safe and secure. IRCTC Aims at 1 Lakh Meal Order Online Per Day

NEW DELHI: On the back of rapid growth of e-business, IRCTC has set its sights high and aims at achieving the target of one lakh online meal orders per day. Currently, only about 3000 meals are being booked online every day with 193 stations and 1516 trains covered under the e-catering policy. The online food order on trains and at stations is catching up as passengers are evincing interest in opting for e-catering during train journey, said a senior IRCTC official. Launched in September 2014 in a few selected trains as a pilot project, e-catering was extended to more trains the next year. In October 2015, station-based e-catering was started at 45 stations. Big Blow For Paytm & Mobikwik- IRCTC Barred Usage of E-wallets between 8AM to 12PM

The railway ministry on Thursday announced new rules for booking of online tickets through the IRCTC website, which will be effective from February 15. It has barred usage of e-wallets and cash cards between 8 am and 12 noon, besides reducing the maximum number of ticket bookings allowed to an individual user to six in a month from the current 10. The ministry of railways’ decision could affect Paytm and Mobikwik’s plans to get train travellers to use their mobile wallets.
