IIT Bombay incubated Startup Raises 2 Crore

Nanosniff Technologies, an IIT Bombay incubated company, has raised Rs 2 crore (about USD 300,000) from 1Crowd and its investor community. Nanosniff is a deep technology company working on high impact offerings in MEMS domain with applications in healthcare and security markets. "Nanosniff is an exemplary case where genuine IP has been created from robust R&D to address healthcare and security markets," 1Crowd co-founder Anil Gudibande said in a statement. It had previously raised an undisclosed amount from a group of angel investors.

Job seekers have become more cautious while considering offers from startups as it presents substantial risk to their long-term goals, according to experts. "With the premier tech school IIT Bombay blacklisting nine startups, job seekers have become more cautious before accepting offers from them. "There could be more job seekers declining offers from these companies as they will weigh the substantial risk they need to take while making such career moves as they consider their long-term professional goals," hiring consultancy Michael Pages Director Ankit Agarwala said. IIT Bombay Incubated Lucideus Tech Raises Funds From Angel Investor

Cyber security service provider Lucideus Tech has received angel funding from Amit Choudhary, director of Motilal Oswal Private Equity Advisors. The start-up, which was incubated by IIT-Bombay, has previously received funding from Anand Chandrasekaran (former Snapdeal chief product officer) and Flipkart chief financial officer Sanjay Baweja. It helps enterprises assess risks to their IT infrastructure. Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick to offer start-up tips at IIT-B on January 19

Uber co-founder and CEO Travis Kalanick will be in Mumbai next week to address students of IIT-Bombay and share his own success story. Kalanick, on his maiden trip to India, is among other top executives who will be in town to take part in the government's Start-up India event scheduled for January 16. He will be sharing the stage with over 40 CEOs and founders of start-ups, including SoftBank's Masayoshi Son, at IIT-B, one of the country's premier centres for start-up incubation. Kalanick will be addressing the students on January 19.
