College Event Ticketing Startup Raises $250,000 funding

TheCollegeFever (TCF), a college event ticket booking startup raised a seed funding worth $250,000 (Rs 1.7 crore) from Mumbai-based investment firm 11.2 Advisors. It is the first time that TheCollegeFever is raising funds from external resources and intends on using the capital for customer acquisition and improving technology, its founder Kushal Aralihalli said. The Bengaluru-based company, which is run by Culturo Technology Pvt. Ltd, works in partnership with 2,000 colleges and has sold over 4 lakhs tickets in over 6,000 events amounting to Rs 10 crore, its Aralihalli added. IIM-A raises 2-year PG program fees at Rs. 22 Lakhs

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahemdabad (IIM-A) has reportedly raised the fees of its post graduate programme for year 2018-2010 from 21 lakh to Rs. 22 lakh, third time in a row. Mr. Erol D'souza, its chief director delivered the information at IIM-A's 53rd convocation that took place on 24, March, 2018 at Louis Khan Plaza, IIM-A Campus, Ahemdabad. While the last year fees hike involved a 7.7% increase from Rs.19.5 lakhs to Rs. 21 lakh, this year it has moved up to Rs. 22 lakhs. While addressing the media, Mr. D'souza said, The IIM-A Board met and decided to increase the fee structure.Just like every year, the fee will rise. 20000 Crore Alloted For R&D at IITs, IIMs and Other Higher Education

In a bid to boost innovation at premier institutions, an agency will soon be set by the government to provide funds up to Rs 20,000 crore for building research-oriented infrastructure at IITs, IIMs and other centres of higher education. The HRD Ministrys proposal to this effect was cleared at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. Announcing the decision, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said a Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA) would be jointly promoted by an identified promoter and his ministry with an authorised capital of Rs 2,000 crore of which government equity would be Rs 1,000 crore.
