Singapore-based Elara Technologies Raises $35 million in Fresh Funding

Elara Technologies, the owner of Housing.com, PropTiger.com and Makaan.com that is based in Singapore has reportedly raised an amount of $35 million in a fresh funding round. The round was led by Citi Singapore and these funds are being planned to be used for business growth. The investment will be made in the brand building, product & technology, sales force and geographic expansion. "Our consistent high double-digit growth momentum and mode of financing reflect the strong fundamentals of our company. Realty portal Housing.com, which has recently merged with PropTiger.com, has re-entered into rent business and targets to list 2 lakh homes in the next three months. Housing.com, which was founded in 2012, initially focused on providing independently verified listings of homes to address the issue of finding homes for rent in metros and major cities. However, the company had in November 2015 decided to restructure its business to focus only on buying and selling of apartments. "... Housing.com Shuts Down, Announced Merger With PropTiger

In a major consolidation in the online realty space, PropTiger.com and Housing.com today announced a merger to create Indias largest online real estate services company and the joint entity will raise USD 55 million of fresh investment. News Corp-backed PropTiger.com and SoftBank-backed Housing.com announced "they will come together to become India's largest online real estate services company." As part of the transaction, REA Group Ltd will invest USD 50 million in the joint entity with an affiliate of SoftBank Group Corp, investing USD 5 million. Realty portal Housing.com plans to spend up to USD 7 million on advertisements this fiscal as it looks to strengthen its brand equity. Softbank-backed company, which today announced the launch of its first ever TV campaign, will be releasing a slew of ads on electronic, digital and social media platforms targetting consumers in the age range of 25-40. Housing.com to restructure business, will focus on buying and selling of apartments

One of the biggest Online Realty portal in India, Housing.com will restructure its business to focus only on buying and selling of apartments, and also reduce its employee strength.   SoftBank backed-Housing.com, which was founded in 2012, provides independently verified listings of homes. It has presence in 50 cities with about 2,500 staff members.
