HCL Tech completes acquisition of IBM Products

HCL Technologies Monday said it has completed the planned acquisition of select IBM products for security, marketing, commerce, and digital solutions. Last year in December, HCL Technologies said it will acquire select IBM software products for USD 1.8 billion (over Rs 12,700 crore) in an all-cash deal. It's expected to close by mid-2019 after completion of applicable regulatory reviews. In a statement, HCL Technologies announced the close of the said acquisition. The popular IT company HCL Technologies will reportedly set up a Global IT development centre at Gannavaram in Andhra Pradesh and this will create more than 5,000 jobs. HCL Technologies Ltd excels Wipro Ltd to become India’s third-biggest software services provider in the three months to 30 June, marking the first change in the pecking order of the country’s $167 billion IT outsourcing industry in six years. IT services major HCL Technologies today said it has completed its USD 85 million acquisition of Butler America Aerospace. The all-cash deal, announced in October last year, will strengthen HCL Technologies' position in the aerospace and defence engineering services space. "The acquisition has been completed with effect from January 3, 2017," HCL said in a filing to the BSE.
