Well it's not the fault of your internet connection or your browser! Google has actually removed the 'View Image' button to prevent stealing of images. The move is small, but the impact it will be causing is huge. The button was extremely useful to students or researchers when they're searching for an image. Google Crunches Data To Help NASA Find Two New Planets

Alphabet Inc’s Google and NASA said on Thursday that advanced computer analysis identified two new planets around distant stars, including one that is part of the first star system with as many planets as Earth’s solar system. The research by Google and the University of Texas at Austin that used data from NASA raised the prospects of new insights into the universe by feeding data into computer programs that can churn through information faster and more in-depth than humanly possibly, a technique known as machine learning.  In this case, software learned differences between planets and other objects by analyzing thousands of data points, achieving 96 percent accuracy, NASA said at a news conference. The data came from the Kepler telescope which NASA launched into space in 2009 as ...

Do You Google Everything? That May Be Risky For Your Health

Using Google frequently to search for information, rather than using our brains, may increase the risk of dementia, a UK researcher has warned. The researcher has described the practice as an "experiment" we are conducting on ourselves. "It's important to promote good brain health and to do that is to use it, but these days we seem to outsource our brain to the internet," said Frank Gunn-Moore, from the University of St Andrews in the UK. "If we want to know something, we look it up online rather than trying to recall the information from our memory," Gunn-Moore was quoted as saying to The Sunday Post. "It's an experiment the human race is running and we will have to wait and see if this outsourcing affects dementia prevalence," he said. Gun-Moore will be speaking at the annual ...

Now Book Ola, Uber Through Google Search in India

Consumers will now be able to book a ride on Ola and Uber directly from Google Search. Earlier this year, Google had introduced the feature on Google Maps, where a dedicated tab with information for cab services was made available to Indian users, in addition to the existing driving, public transport, or walking options. "Now with this integration, commuters across the country can ask Google for directions and book ride services directly from Google Search," Google said in a statement. They will get to see a tab for ride services, both Uber and Ola, with fare estimates and pick-up times if a car is available near their location, it added. When a user requests for specific information like Taxi to Delhi or Ola/Uber to airport, the Google Search app or browser will direct the use...

Google Search Chief Amit Singhal To Quit, To Be Replaced By AI Head

Reuters- Google parent Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O) said Amit Singhal, the longtime chief of its Internet search business, will leave the company and be replaced by the head of the technology giant's artificial intelligence business. John Giannandrea, currently a vice president of engineering, will replace Singhal, a 15-year Google veteran, once he leaves on Feb. 26. "Search is stronger than ever, and will only get better in the hands of an outstanding set of senior leaders who are already running the show day-to-day," Singhal wrote in a blog post. The appointment of Giannandrea, who joined Google in 2010, underlines the growing importance Silicon Valley is attaching to artificial intelligence technology. Giannandrea led Google's machine learning efforts, applying the technology to produ...
