Invested $300 Million in Supply Chain, Logistics in 18 Months: Snapdeal

E-commerce major Snapdeal has pumped in $300 million (about Rs 1,990 crore) over the last 18 months to strengthen its supply chain and logistics and facilitate the increase in shipment volumes. The city-based firm has seen 1.9 times increase in shipment volumes from 1.29 lakh daily shipments last year to 2.5 lakh this year. "We have seen a significant increase of 1.9 times in shipment volumes. This is on account of increase in assortment on Snapdeal from 12 million to 35 million over the year. We have also expanded our seller base which helped increase shipments," Snapdeal Chief Customer Experience Officer Jayant Sood told PTI. Godrej acquires US-based Strength of Nature (SON)

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), the fast moving consumer goods arm of the $4 billion-Godrej Group, has acquired US based company Strength of Nature. Nature a US-based company that makes hair care products targeted at women of African descent. The acquisition amount has not been disclosed. Adi Godrej, chairman of the Godrej Group, said on Saturday that with this acquisition, GCPL would be the leading company that makes hair care products for women of African descent. After relaunch in India, Nestle sells 3.3 crore packs of Maggi noodles in 10 days

Nestle India, one of the largest FMCG companies in India, has so far sold 3.3 crore packs of its instant noodles Maggi in 350 towns across the India since the re-launch of the product last week. The company is selling Maggi at 1.2 lakh outlets through 724 distributors. The company had re-launched Maggi noodles in the market on November 9, after fulfilling conditions set by Bombay High Court which lifted ban imposed by FSSAI and Maharashtra FDA.   MAGGI Noodles is presently being manufactured at three locations, at Nanjangud (Karnataka), Moga (Punjab) and Bicholim (Goa).
