Facebook agrees to pay $5 billion Penalty for privacy violations

Social media platform Facebook has agreed to pay a whopping $5 billion to the Federal Trade Commission as a penalty for sharing details of its users to the third party, in the largest-ever security fine imposed on any company for disregarding consumer information. Social media giant Facebook admitted that they have shared their user's data with Indian telecom company Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio's music app partner Saavn among others. The social media company said that these all those companies having integration partnerships with Facebook. The integration partners of the company to build ways for Facebook users to receive Facebook or Facebook features on their device or network within platform use policies of the social media firm. Facebook Confirms Sharing Users Data with Chinese Companies

Facebook has informed that it had data sharing agreements with four Chinese consumer makers including Huawei Technologies Co. that has sparked privacy concerns yet again where the social media company has repeatedly failed to explain how personal information flows beyond Facebook.
