Bengaluru Most Hospitable to Tech Startups; NCR Next Best

(ANI): Bengaluru is host to the largest share of technology driven start-ups, followed by the Delhi NCR and Mumbai while Hyderabad and Chennai are also quite popular among the techies who are budding entrepreneurs, according to an ASSOCHAM study. The study done in association with the thought arbitrage found that in the technology driven start-ups, India has moved up to third position with the US occupying the top position with more than 47,000 and UK with over 4,500. India's tech start-ups number around 4,200 up to 2015. The trade body of Indian IT firms NASSCOM has signed a MoU with Facebook to build a product design initiative to engage the country's young entrepreneurs into becoming problem solvers and solution builders. Indian Executives Open to Working With Startups: Survey

A half of Indian executives polled are open to work with start-ups as partnering with new-age companies bring in agile and innovative methods, says a survey. However, the other half is still sceptical about working with a start-up, according to annual EY-CIO Klub's Enterprise IT trends and investment survey titled 'the startup gene: a way forward'. The survey, which revolves around the idea of the startup gene, noted that the CIOs of the country can benefit from partnerships with start-ups and by imbibing the attitude of start-up entrepreneurs. Sequoia raised Largest VC Fund Approx $920 Million to Invest in Indian Startups

Sequoia Capital, Silicon Valley's top-tier VC fund closed fresh $920 million fund. Funds will largely invests in Indian startups. The fresh funds takes Sequoia's total investment assets to more than $3 billion in India. This is the biggest raise by any VC fund for India-specific investments, cementing Sequoia's leadership position in the domestic early-to-growth stage investing space. TOI had reported on September 8 last year about Sequoia Capital, a backer of companies like Just Dial, Freecharge, Zomato, Oyo Rooms, among others, being on the road to raise its fifth India fund.
