India Tops Google Play Store Downloads in Last 7 Years

With the growing number of Android users in India, the country saw 36.9 billion app downloads from Google Play Store between January 2012 and August 2018 which marks as the highest among all countries, according to mobile app analytics firm App Annie. This study was done on the 10th anniversary of the Google Play Store. India accounted for 11.2% of the Google Play Store pie worldwide, given that global downloads for the period were 330 billion. Following India, the US was in second position with 35.1 billion downloads. Airtel TV Crosses 50 Million Downloads on Android: Extends Free Subscription

India’s popular Delhi-based telecom company Bharti Airtel has publicized that its Android app called Airtel TV has crossed the milestone of 50 million (5 crores) downloads on the Google Play Store. To acknowledge this success, the company has announced that it will be offering a free subscription to the Airtel mobile customers till 31 December 2018.
