Chinese Premier Urges President Donald Trump Not to Start A Trade War

Li Keqiang, Chinese Premier said on Tuesday that China did not want to get involved in a trade war with the United States of America, stating that the conflict could only ruin the relationship between the two countries. “We hope that both parties can maintain reason, not act emotionally, and avoid a trade war,” said Mr. Li at a press conference. He further added that any trade war would make no winner between the two superpowers and he hopes both parties can stay “calm” at the present situation. Twitter Argument Between Elon Musk and Donald Trump

United States President, Donald Trump, and Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk started a political debate on Twitter concerning the import tax difference between China and USA on cars. It all started off from a tweet of US President over his promised tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum. On Wednesday, 7 March, the White House resident tweeted that China were asked to find ways to cut the trade deficit between the two countries by a billion dollars. Truthfully, the request comes from America and the correct amount is $100 billion. “China has been asked to develop a plan for the year of a One Billion Dollar reduction in their massive Trade Deficit with the United States. Our relationship with China has been a very good one, and we look forward to seeing what ideas they come back with. We mus...

India’s Export Percentage Lower Than Year 2005

Indian exports of goods and services, as a percentage of GDP in the September 2017 quarter, was lower than that of September 2005. US President Donald Trump has menaced to impose reciprocal tariffs on Indian goods, if the government refuse to lower duties on American exports. If the threat is put into practice, it will aggravate an already problematic situation for Indian exports. The best way to illustrate the gravity of this problem is when we realize that the gross domestic product (GDP) in September 2017 quarter was lower than the September quarter of 2005, already 12 years ago. The Indian exports of goods and services as a percentage of GDP was on a steady rise during the last boom until the September 2008 quarter. Exports were on the rise, significantly contributing t...

Donald Trump’s Forbes Ranking Drops by 200 places

President of United States Donald Trump has seen a significant drop on Forbes list of the wealthiest people in the world. The business mogul plummeted down more than 200 places in the famous magazine’s list after losing around $400 million in his net worth since last year. He is currently ranked 766th while he stood at the 544th place in last year’s standings. Forbes attributed his drop to “a tough New York real estate market, particularly for retail locations; a costly lawsuit and an expensive presidential campaign.” Moreover, President Donald Trump lost a billion US dollars in net worth in 2017. Trump Tower, the President’s New York home, lost around $41 million in value in 2017. He is also losing a longtime renter on his 65,000 square-foot property on 6 East 57th Street. as tenant...

Twitter Says World Leaders Like Trump Have Special Status

Twitter Inc on Friday reiterated its stance that accounts belonging to world leaders have special status on the social media network, pushing back against users who have called on the company to banish U.S. President Donald Trump. “Blocking a world leader from Twitter or removing their controversial Tweets would hide important information people should be able to see and debate,” Twitter said in a post on a corporate blog. Twitter had already said in September that “newsworthiness” and whether a tweet is “of public interest” are among the factors it considers before removing an account or a tweet.  The debate over Trump’s tweeting, though, raged anew after Trump said from his @realDonaldTrump account on Tuesday that he had a “much bigger” and “more powerful” nuclear button than No...

China Temporarily Exempts Foreign Firms From Taxes For Reinvested Profits

China said on Thursday it will temporarily exempt foreign firms from paying provisional income tax on profits they re-invest into the economy, in a bid to stop foreign firms shifting their operations out of the country. The move will help “promote growth of foreign investment, improve quality of foreign investment and encourage overseas investors to continuously expand their investment in China,” the finance ministry said on its website. Analysts say a planned tax cut by U.S. President Donald Trump, which could lead to a repatriation of earnings by U.S. firms, poses a challenge China’s bid to lure foreign investment. The temporary exemption on provisional income tax is retroactive from Jan. 1 this year, which means firms that have paid taxes this year will be refunded. But fore...

Trump’s Christmas Wish: ‘We’ve Got Prosperity, Now We Want Peace’

On Christmas Eve, U.S. President Donald Trump took calls from children, asking them what they wanted most from Santa, and revealing what was on his own wish list. One boy wanted building blocks. Another wished for his grandma to get out of the hospital. And as for Trump - who has sent a series of combative tweets since arriving at his Florida vacation home - he said he wants “peace for the country.”  “We’ve got prosperity - now we want peace,” Trump told a child named Ryan, who called the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to check on Santa’s progress.  Every year on Christmas eve NORAD purports to track the flight of Santa and his reindeer-pulled sleigh, a tradition since 1955 when a department store misprinted a phone number, sending a flood of calls to a NORAD c...

Tesla Reaffirms Effort To Build Cars In China; Mum On Deal Report

Electric car maker Tesla Inc reaffirmed on Sunday it is talking with the Shanghai municipal government to set up a factory in the region and expects to agree on a plan by the end of the year, but declined to comment on a report that a deal has been reached. China levies a 25 percent duty on sales of imported vehicles and has not allowed foreign automakers to establish wholly owned factories in the country, the world’s largest auto market. Those are problems for Tesla, which wants to expand its presence in China’s growing electric vehicle market without compromising its independence or intellectual property. China’s government has considered allowing foreign automakers to set up wholly owned factories in free trade zones in part to encourage more production of electric and hybrid vehi...

Google Uncovered Russia-Backed Ads on YouTube, Gmail : Source

Google has discovered Russian operatives spent tens of thousands of dollars on ads on its YouTube, Gmail and Google Search products in an effort to meddle in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, a person briefed on the company’s probe told Reuters on Monday. The ads do not appear to be from the same Kremlin-affiliated entity that bought ads on Facebook Inc, but may indicate a broader Russian online disinformation effort, according to the source, who was not authorized to discuss details of the confidential investigation by Alphabet Inc’s Google. Microsoft Corp said separately on Monday that it was looking at whether Russians bought U.S. election ads on its Bing search engine or other Microsoft-owned products and platforms. A spokeswoman for the company declined to comment further. ...

Big Blow To Trump, US Tech Giants Join Alliance to Honour Paris Climate Agreement

US tech giants, government leaders, investors, universities, and companies have agreed to fight global warming by reducing carbon emissions and honour the Paris Agreement on climate change, days after President Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the landmark deal. Various companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, Intel and Microsoft are among the hundreds of businesses that declared their intention to continue working toward reducing carbon emissions. The firms who were noticeably absent were Oracle, IBM, and all the major telecommunications providers. "In the absence of leadership from Washington, states, cities, colleges and universities and businesses representing a sizeable percentage of the US economy will pursue ambitious climate goals, working together to take forc...
