Delhi-NCR Emerged as The Top Job Creator City in January-March: Report

Delhi-NCR emerged as the top job creator among eight major cities in January-March, generating over 2.6 lakh new employment opportunities in the period, says a report. A total of 8.5 lakh jobs were created in eight major cities across the country, the report said. "Delhi-NCR emerged on top with over 2.6 lakh new jobs created during January to March 2016 followed by Bangalore (1.9 lakh), Mumbai (1.5 lakh), Chennai (82,200) and Hyderabad (60,000). About 88.9 per cent of job openings have been recorded in these top five cities," the report by Assocham said. Ola Started e-rickshaw Bookings on its Platform, Partner with Freecharge

Transportation app Ola today launched e-rickshaw category on its platform that will enable the users to book rides on the electric vehicle in Delhi-NCR region. "A total of 5,100 Ola e-rickshaws will be launched in partnership with Bhartiya Micro Credit (BMC) at the event and will be deployed across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. This will be further scaled up in the coming months to more small towns and Tier III cities," Ola Chief Operating Officer Pranay Jivrajka told reporters here. The company will charge a 10 per cent commission from the rickshaw pedallers. It will, however, not charge any convenience fee from users as is the case with auto-rickshaws. Bus-aggregator Shuttl Touched 1 Million Rides Across Delhi-NCR in 194 Days

Gurgaon-based Shuttl, a bus-aggregator company claims to hit another milestone by, reaching its one millionth completed rides across Delhi-NCR in only 194 days of its operations. From being an intra-city to a pan Delhi-NCR public transit service, Shuttl has seen massive transformation. Shuttl has also been able to save Rs 5.10 mn per day in fuel cost for commuters, has kept 4,727 vehicles off the road daily and saved 53,460 tonnes carbon emissions till date during all it operational days. Currently, 50% of users board their Shuttl from Gurgaon, the business haven of NCR, 33% from Noida, and 17% from Delhi and rest of NCR.
