Gyana Raises funding from Twitter co-founder Biz Stone & Others

London-based data science startup Gyana has raised USD 3.9 million (about Rs 28.5 crore) in pre-series A round of funding led by Fuel Adventures, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Green Shores Capital and U+I. Gyana plans to use the latest round of funding to support growing its product user base, while aiding expansion across Europe and India soon, a statement said. Infosys Invested $1.5M in a Data Discovery Firm

Infosys, an IT services major, said it made a second investment of $1.5 million in Waterline Data Science, which is a data discovery and data governance software provider company. The Bengaluru-based company first poured $4 million in the US-based firm to obtain stakes in return back in January 2016. After the recent investment, Infosys now holds a minority stake not exceeding 20% of the incredible share capital of the company, according to the company filing to the stock exchange. Tata Group Tie-up With Yale University For Research & Development and Funding

Indian conglomerate Tata Group and US prestigious Yale University have launched a collaboration that will focus on promoting research and its application in fields like network science, data science, healthcare and microbiome research. Tata has committed to fund the alliance over five years. However, the company did not disclose the financial details.
